Update March 29: Following the devastating earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria last month, together with our customers we have raised over €336,000 to support the relief efforts.
As a global company with a diverse employee base, we have a strong commitment to our people and society. Additionally, being a food delivery business means we recognise the importance of ensuring that those affected by natural disasters or humanitarian crises have access to adequate nutrition.
Together with consumers and employees, and through a corporate matched donation, we raised funds which will now be given to our chosen charity partners: The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and GOAL.
All funds will help provide emergency aid including food, water and shelter. We thank all of our colleagues and customers who donated. We hope our donation can play a small part in the relief efforts, and our thoughts continue to be with those affected by the disaster.
Just Eat Takeaway.com assisted the relief efforts by raising donations for our chosen charity partners: The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and GOAL. Together, with consumers and employees, we raised funds through the following channels:
1. Consumer donations: To use our network as a force for good, we gave consumers the chance to donate.
Consumers in the UK & Ireland were able to donate at checkout when they placed an order. Consumers across some of our other European markets* were sent a donation link to a dedicated charity page hosted by UNHCR, where their donations were matched by Just Eat Takeaway.com
2. Employee donations: Employees were able to donate via a dedicated charity page hosted by UNHCR. Our partners and anybody else that wanted to donate were also able to do so through this page.
3. Corporate donation: For every consumer that donated, Just Eat Takeaway.com matched these, up to a total of €500,000 globally.
